Luthier in Spokane?
Anyone got a recommendation for a good luthier in the Spokane area? My son has Martin 00-18 with a little fret buzz. Appreciate any help. Thanks!

Hi Wags,
One option I can recommend is Cole Music Company. Eben Cole did a great job for me recently on one of my acoustics that needed a fair amount of work. |

Joel Stehr and Tyson Soth (used to apprentice under Joel) are in Spokane. They make beautiful guitars, but I’m not sure if guitar repair is part of what they do. Worth reaching out, for they are both nice gents.

If you haven't, first make sure the guitar's humidity is up to standards. I see Spokane's current humidity is 22% and it could be even drier in his residence.

Ken Glastre in Spokane. He's an authorized Martin repairman. [email protected] (509) 991-8154. He did the setup on my 000-18 and repaired the binding problems on my 000-18 and OM-28V. He's fair, honest, reliable and does the repairs very timely. You won't be sorry if you call him.
Good Luck! Ron

Thanks for the responses. I'm passing them along to my son. He took it in somewhere, didn't mention where, and they did a quick fix and sold him a mini humidifier and some strings. Sounded like they cranked down the truss rod a smidgeon.
As to the strings, they said they measured them and then sold him a set of 11's. Hmm. Pretty sure Martin puts 12's on the 00-18's and he had never changed them, so, makes me wonder if their measurement was wrong. I advised him that lighter strings could lead to the same problem and referred him to the Martin site for more info. |
