Default Martin prototypes!

Martin has some nice prototypes listed on their front page. Pretty cool concept....selling preproduction models. Any other manufacturers do this?

Yikes!, They really add a premium for the prototypes given they are the same as the production runs.

I bought a prototype Taylor that most resembles a GA-8 from the Taylor booth at a big guitar show (maybe not your average sales outlet though).

Pay a premium for the "experimental" model they ended up tweaking the design on before they got it right? Hmmmm.......I think I'll pass.
