Default Intro...

Seems like new members are encouraged to make a short intro, so here goes. I have been lurking here for about a year and have picked up some good info from the folks here already. I am middle aged (maybe more...), have been playing since '87, and play in our church band. I tried to learn to flatpick a bit in my late teens and early 20s but impatiently gave it up. I have come back to the style now and perhaps my 'maturity'...*ahem* has helped me be happier with small improvements.

So far, I have been really encouraged by the vibe here... I hope I can contribute something to the discussion.

Ha... I can 'contribute' an opinion that J15s are really nice for the money and somewhat more economical way to experience a Gibson short scale, slope shoulder dread. It's a really nice guitar and sounds nice to my ears. I went in to buy a 'new to me' J100 last month but this J15 was easier to hold, had lovely tone, and didn't give up much of any volume to the J100. I do love the SB finish on this J100 though, but not enough to have walked from the J15.

Welcome aboard LT ! That Gibson J-15 is a great guitar - I've played a few in shops, in Colorada and Montana - they were all very good.
