Default Taylor Guitar Strings

On the Taylor website, it states that they are shipped with "Elixir® strings with NANOWEB". Do you guys know which one of the nanos are on the taylors, nano 80/20, or the pbs. Thanks in advance,

Los

When I took delivery of my GS8 over a year ago, it came with medium Elixer nano 80/20s.

though the guage might be different based on guitar body size, taylors ship with elixir Nano 80/20.

nano pb would be a great change in taylor's philosophy....

I'm glad you brought this up...I was in my local shop getting ready to buy a set of Elixer Nano's for my 714ce and saw the Elixer Nano PB. Although he only had .013's in he is ordering a few sets of .12's for me to try out.

I've been through a ton of strings on this guitar as I like to string and re-string to find that "right" tone and feel I'm looking for. I had previously decided that DR Rare's, DR Pre-Alloy's and Curt Mangans were "my" strings but they don't work well for me on the 714ce.

Elixers are by far the best strings for it imho. And BTW, I tried Cleartone strings as I heard they were Elixer alternatives and HATED them. Very stiff for one thing.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to trying the Elixer PB...I'm glad to read someone else liked them

I'm very happy with the Elixer nano 80/20s since those are the ones that came with my guitar. I'll also give the PBs a try since the feedback seems to be pretty good on those as well. Thanks again for the help.

My LTG came with med 80/20 nanos. Bought the same thing regularly until I needad a set and the dealer only had PB in stock. Now that's all I use. I like custom lights (.11) for the smaller body guitar and I do mostly finger style playing.

Yeah, 80/20s for sure, pkang.

Definitely try PBs on your axes, folks. Different sound -- I love 'em. I've only used the D'Addario PBs though. I need to try Elixirs.

I've played some R. Taylors that seem to have been strung with PB's. However standard Taylors ship with 80/20's. My new McPherson came with 80/20's. However, I've also been a PB convert and will change over to those at my next string change.
