Default Estrella Dread - Anybody have any history?

I bought a used Dreadnought a while ago. It has "Estrella" in abalone on the headstock. Says "Made in Japan" on the soundhole sticker and it looks to be a spruce top with mahogany sides and back. Near as I can tell its solid wood and not laminate. I can follow the grain from inside to outside.

It sounds real nice though not on the level of my Larrivee. I can not find a single fact online about this guitar. Does anyone know anything about them?

I saw that one too. I think it was released as a sort of Sears & Roebuck model. Its probably 25 to 30 years old, but there isn't a date on it. Guy I bought it from said he had bought it new from a shop in CA 26 years prior to my getting it. He said he got it from a guitar shop. So, I really have nothing to go on.

Hi chris…
Had an Estrella Dreadnaught copy of a Gibson Dove (dove on the pickguard, Gibson style neck inlay, and the whole works), and played it for a couple years back in the early 1970s. Wrote lots of songs and played lots of folk music on it...can't tell you a thing about the company.

It was just the upgrade I’d made from my Harmony-->Kay-->Estrella-->D-28

Larry's songs...

…Just because you've argued someone into silence doesn't mean you have convinced them…
