Default NGD--'43/'44 Banner LG-2

I never got the Gibson bug until recently. I blame John Thomas, first and foremost, and then Jeff Hanna, whose '51 SJ gave me the final shove.

By the way, I could not be happier with the service I received from Lowe Vintage Instrument Company. They're first-rate.

Believe me, JT's book also made a heck of an impression on those of us who owned Banners before it came out. If I was going to buy another LG-2 (I owned one built in 1946 for many years) it would be a Banner. There is just something about those guitars. Yours really is a looker and appears to be a non-truss rod model so assuming you cannot make out the FON the '43-'44 build date would seem right.

Killer. I love my LG2. Deep, spongy base, punchy middle, and reverby highs. Not a guitar that cuts through the mix, but what a great sound in a quiet room or around the campfire. Just had a refret done and mine sounds better than ever these days. Enjoy your new Gibson!

I had the same "affliction" for those Banners, which only got worse once I read John's book.
