Default Is this normal?

Hello everyone! I recently started my journey learning acoustic guitar. I picked up a brand new Inspired by Gibson Epiphone J45. I noticed that on the butt of the guitar, where the strap button goes, there is a seam running down the middle of the guitar. You can run your fingernail across the seam and it catches, almost looks cracked. Is this something I should take up with Epiphone?

Also I could care less if this is simply a cosmetic bug, I am more or less worried about the guitar coming apart in a few years, thanks!

Your fine, that is common. The sides of a guitar is made up of 2 pieces. You don't see it on the other end because of the neck joint.

I have a cheap Camelot the same way. It is over 40 years old. I have an Indiana that you can feel it on, bought it in 2007. On all of my Takamine's this is seen but a lot smoother.

Default Seam

As rstraight says, it’s the seam where the two sides meet. I would expect a better fit, but for a guitar in that price class it’s not uncommon.
