Go Leafs.
It's kind of funny reading the different *sports writers* takes on this upcoming season, how this team or that, or this player or that, is going to do. It never ends up being close to what actually happens.  I'm pretty sure my Leafs will do okay through the season, only to fall apart in the playoffs, as a Leaf fan, one gets accustomed to it.

Canes open tomorrow night against Ottawa at home. Then they're on the road for 6 games because of the NC state fair. I think we're made our defense better by adding Orlov and bringing back D'Angelo. We'll see.
Goaltending, goaltending, goaltending. Gonna be the same guys this year. Let's hope for some improvement. Regardless, I'm excited.

Just announced: Barry Melrose, my good friend, is retiring from ESPN/ABC broadcasting to deal with Parkinson's. He will be sorely missed in the NHL family.

Hey Larry, great thread!
 .Sorry to hear about Melrose' Parkinson's. Sad news. I saw him play in the AHL when he was with the Adirondack Red Wings when he came to town. As far as the season goes, I'm wondering what the Bruins will do. I'd rather see them fight for a playoff spot and go in hungry instead of what happened last year. Same thing with MLB - only 1 team of the four top seeded teams won their first round.

I started watching hockey as a Kings fan in Barry's era. I wish him the best.
Currently I live in the PNW and am rooting for the Kraken, which is a hard road, haha.
