Nothing technical --It's just expressive exaggeration Typically in music parlance, 2 D is more less the left and right of the sound stage and say stereo placement of different instruments left and right and 3D is meant to describe more front to back depth and the feeling of spaciousness

An Atmos system is expensive to set up and most people here would have to start from the ground up to put an Atmos system together.

I'm still waiting for an answer to the same question, asked in post #10. Evidently the O.P. doesn't have any idea either.

Atmos is more individual points of source for the sound , not more dimensions. So still basically 3D-ish

Different topic: she’s using a Glider capo. You don’t see many of those.

https://www.glidercapo.com/

I’ve mentioned them before in capo threads, and they’ve been met with deafening silence. I actually use one on my J-45. I like the smaller radius on its 12” radius neck compared with a Shubb. It does get in the way of your hand with a D7 or an Amin, though.

Isnt 5D when your chair vibrates and water is dripped from the ceiling?

Assuming a decent guitar/pup/amp rig, and NOT a 7-figure music allowance, for around $500 I would consider the Strymon BigSky or ToneDexter. The Dexter will have more widely useful abilities, but requires a few more accessories (flat mic, stands, etc) and a learning curve (which is fun). The Strymon will take you to school on reverb, and is easy out of the box, at least to get started.

5D is where the water is coming from if that chair is in apartment 4D.

While plugging into a pickup might be one approach that someone could use, (that is not what is going on in the video)
In the video the reverb effect is almost certainly and insert effect in the DAW. My guess it is set up as a parallel effect (on it's own track ) and it is either a plugin or plugins or studio grade outboard reverb processor as a hardware insert and likely a room or space emulation

If someone wants to try to replicate what's going on in the video and cost is an issue you can do it for much much less than either a ToneDexter or Strymon pedal (or even for free) you can use either just your DAW bundled reverb and or delay, or for example you can get something like The Valhalla Room for $50 ,. OR something like Liquid Sonics Seventh Heaven plugin for $69 or their REVERBERATE plugin for $99

Or the chair could even be in 3D and 4D is just a low pass -thru
The echo -sh quality is the super pounding on the door of 5D

As I read the OP's post, this is exactly what he's asking, tho - "I always wanted to have kind of 3D dramatic plugged-in sound on the stage" and "I would just like to figure out and crack what equipment to buy besides the guitar and amp to get as close to this sound on the stage".

I don't remember exactly what the concept was, but I do remember seeing videos of live performances where each member of the audience was wearing over the ear headphones coupled to a small Ghz receiver/amplifier. Maybe that?

I believe it was the Peex Rx concept:

Wearing headphones for the Elton John concert, The Peex Rx concept.

Ah yes I did not remember that criteria OK with plugged in, in mind I don't know how "close" but Strymon reverb pedals can indeed create big reverb sound but they are pricey

For about 1/2 the price of Strymon the new Electro Harmonix Oceans 12 ($215) can get some big sounding reverb also
