Default Seeing harmonics, visualizing the end result

I'm looking at EQ spectrums of my four acoustic tracks and one bass track, and for the first time I'm aware of the harmonics that come with individual notes. The whole piece is primarily individual notes on all instruments, so the harmonics are visually distinct on each track.

Mindful of creating space for each guitar, I subtracted and boosted various ranges in each track so there's no overloading in any frequency band. Now that I see all these harmonics, I began to wonder if they themselves are crowding the sound.

But I don't think they are. Ignoring the graphs and just listening, I like the richness of the notes that carry harmonics. To my ears. A pro might shudder, who knows?

I wanted this thread to be about seeing harmonics, which has been fun for me, so I'll leave this post here. I'll start another thread about where to go from here.

Have a good setup to listen to your recordings while tweaking in the DAW and remember most people listen to music theses days on headphones. Personally my listening setup is digital out into a RME DA and on to Grado headphones.

Sound advice. (ouch)

I have Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro cans for tracking and DT 990 Pro for mixing. I also have tidy little Eris 3.5 near field monitors and an Eris Sub 8. The best news is my eight new 2' x 4' absorption panels that have improved the clarity of listening through the monitors. I place them all around the listening field and sit in the middle. So I think I'm as set up as a home hobbyist needs to be, for my purposes.
