Default Taylor 814 50th Builder’s Ed or Gibson J200?

This is an interesting question, thank you for posting it.
If you’re certain that the givers would not be offended by a trade, then it’s your choice. But be certain…did you ask them, or just assuming so? Either is ok, but misunderstandings happen.
But my caution is this…sometimes the ideal guitar of your imagination does not live up to the dream in real life. So, make sure the Gibson you are thinking of trading for is really what you want, by playing and listening. I would not trade a well-liked guitar for one that you’ve not had a chance to try physically. And I’ve bought many a guitar sound-unheard, so I’m not against it in principle.
The one you have in hand is a reality, the other is a thought, until you play it.
Good luck with your decision, I think we’d all like to know the outcome.
