Not likely to damage a nitrocellulose finish via chemical reaction.

If the guitar spends a lot of time out on a stand in a place with strong ambient sunlight, there could eventually be a "tan line" where the armrest shades the top.

Oooh that's valuable info - I did not think about sunlight.

Well, I keep all my instruments hanging on the wall, but not directly exposed to sunlight.
