Question Seagull Maritime SWS Rosewood vs Mahogany

Has anyone compared the Seagull Maritime SWS Rosewood vs Mahogany? I had the Mahogany on layaway but I am thinking of changing to the Rosewood (it has a 1.72 NW). In forums comparing the woods half the people say RW is brighter and half say Hog... imagine that haha... I also am considering the Maserbilt EF-500RCCE which is also 1.72... The Seagull has that deep C neck and the Epi has a deep V... I think I would prefer a normal C really...

I got to play a Masterbuilt for the first time over the weekend. Nice guitar. Too bad about that sticker on the headstock. The owner got to play my Seagull for his first time and loved it. While I can't bad mouth the Masterbuilt, my S6 sounds better. And it is a bit of a hog. I love this old mahogany 'Gull.

One of the things I like most about Seagull guitars in general is the 1.80 inch nut width. I don't really understand why they would choose to limit a specific model with a desirable tonewood to only a 1.72 inch nutwidth when the vast majority of all their guitars ... solid wood and laminate across all types ot wood are 1.80. It's weird.

The only Seagulls I will buy are the 1.72 models. I love the maritime RW.

Why would you not want to offer variety? I think that's weird really.

Actually the one I had on layaway was a cutaway maritime sws hg that is apparently only available at GC... I need to find out if they can do that with the RW version.

The GC Maritime cutaway is only offered in mahogany. The only Seagulls with rosewood are this single Maritime SWS model that doesn't come weith a cutaway, The Artist Studio and Peppino D'Agostino Signature models have rosewood and cutaway, but a much higher pricetag.

The only reason I mentioned the Rosewood was due to it having a 1.72 nut width... is there a list of all available Seagull guitar specs or a list of 1.72 nw?

Google found http://www.seagullguitars.com/specs.html

I love the 1.72" neck on my Entourage. Could've gotten a Masterbilt for the same price, but I wasn't impressed.
