Default Lots Of Acoustic Guitar Bands Today

I've read many posts here over the past couple of years about how few acoustic guitar influences there seems to be today but I say nay nay. I've been mostly in this weekend doing some writing and I've had some music festivals on for background and I've reaffirmed my thought that there seems to be lots of acoustic-guitar led popular bands.

Just a few - Mumford & Sons, Kings of Leon, Dave Matthews Band, Fall Out Boy frequently uses acoustics up front, Barenaked Ladies, Coldplay The Eagles are still using acoustics as a mainstay, The Lumineers, Ed Sheeran, Jason Mraz, Clapton and Mayer use enough acoustic guitars to be influential acoustically, James Taylor and the hundreds of popular solo-ish artists... Then there are the dozens of country artists using acoustic guitars as primary tools. I find no shortage of acoustic influences in contemporary music whether rock, folk, indy or country.

Lots of acoustic performers but they don't get the popularity that acoustic musicians did 20 or so years ago.

Some of the acoustic guitar bands I enjoy listening to are Fleet Foxes, Lord Huron, Ron Sexsmith, Dustin Tebbut and Novo Amor

About 15 years ago Gil Orr and Paul Johnson, pioneers of the first wave of instrumental surf music, unplugged and issued a CD of all the classic hits like Pipeline and Mr. Moto as The Duo Tones.

They are not 100% acoustic, but I've been following and listening to Boyce Avenue on YouTube. They do some fantastic covers of songs from all genres.

Bingo! They are out there but don't get much air play on corporate commercial radio.
