I believe in the benefits of the Tonerite on better quality guitars.
However, I think that 48 hours is FAR too short a time. The guitars that I've used it on sat for at least a week usually two. I put the machine on maximum during the day (for bass) and on minimum at night (for treble and to avoid upsetting the neighours). I used to do it on the strings that came on the guitars (which I'd normally strip off immediately) and wait until the one or two week process before changing strings as I do believe that the Tonerite tends to wear strings out. Another method - if you listen to music or talk radio - is to leave your guitar in front of one of your speakers for as long as possible. Third option : Play it like crazy!
