Rather than trying to comment upon the individual guitar choices, I will simply say that this Sweetwater presentation is well put together and probably useful for someone who doesn't know what they want.

That looks like a fine list that would be quite helpful for the undecided folks as a previous poster already stated.

However, that got me thinking that this is an excellent example of why so many of us are frequently buying and selling guitars. It can (not always, but frequently) take folks a long time with a lot of experimentation to determine what aspects of a guitar are best suited to that person, and that can change over time as our musical interests change/expand.

None of the guitars on that list appeal to me, but that is a reflection of what I now know would work for me specifically rather than on the guitars themselves. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the guitars on that list, nor with the list itself. Sweetwater are some of the "good guys" in the business and if anybody would have an idea of what the general guitar buying public wants, they certainly would.

If this were 20 years ago, probably any one of the guitars on that list would have been fine for me. But then I would be periodically buying/selling/trading as I figured out what I want and don't want in a guitar, and after years of churn, I would end up with what I have.

So when folks post asking why people buy/sell/trade guitars, this is but one possible answer, and I would be surprised if I were the only one coming to that conclusion.

Cool! Well, I have the cutaway version of the Ovation Adamas I, GT Non-Cutaway Deep Bowl, so I'm feeling pretty good about Sweetwater's choices!

Yeah, actually that was my first thought, too. Of course, they are going to promote the products they are trying to sell. But as I read through the piece and listened to some of the sound bites, my opinion became more favorable. As I originally posted, I think it is likely to be helpful to those who don't know what they want.

Nice little production. And, as others have noted, probably helpful for folks who aren’t forum junkies and need schooled on what’s available. But am I interested in any of those guitars? Nope.

Yes, indeed, the only one I see of those presented by Sweetwater that's not in stock is the Breedlove model. Definitely a Sweetwater marketing ploy but I still feel good about an Ovation Adamas I GT making it to the list, and they just got the listed model in at Fort Wayne.

So...if you had to buy one based on that little bit you can hear in the recordings which would it be? Think I preferred the Yamaha FSX3... Yeah I'm bored on a rainy Friday afternoon!

I think someone in marketing got a spreadsheet of guitars that had the biggest profit potential, both from inventory on hand and any Q 4 additional sales incentives, and built this list based on those companies jumping on board with extra discounts to be a part of this particular marketing program.

They aren't going to have any guitars they can't get to sell on this list.

Didn’t see a single guitar in there that I’d like to own, so in my opinion, not even close to the best acoustics of 2022!!

I disagree with a lot of the choices, it even seems like a marketing ploy

Yes, that's one way to look at their list.

I advise people who don't know what they want all the time. That's why they ask.

My list would be considerably different, but I'm not in the business of selling anything. All these choices are a matter of opinion, anyway.
