We just had a Guitar League meeting on picks. Everyone brought their collection of favorites and we passed them around. Most people agreed that the Red Bear Mediums sounded best ... and made a huge difference for people using really thin picks. It is a challenge suddenly switching to a really heavy pick, but once mastered ... it is worth the effort ... you can still strum "light and thin", but also really dig in when needed. Let the pick do the work ... most are under-utilized.
Also, Golden Gate - Flat Tortoise picks (synthetic) got an honorable mention (and they are definitely cheaper!)

The Gator Grips are very grippy, whereas the Gel ones just get sticky from perspiration. I love that gel pick! |
