Default Newport/Miami preview

Well, do to a serious planning error on my part, I've been burning the midnight oil to get these done for the Newport/ Miami show. Here's a preview. These are all double-topped guitars.

Newly designed parlour:

Soundport and elevated fingerboard

LG of Sitka/Sitka and East Indian Rosewood

12 string of Mahogany/Lutz and Mahogany. Elliot/Doolin style pinless bridge on this one.

Hmmm, not sure why that 12 string picture is sideways. In the photobucket preview it is oriented properly.
And as luck would have it, the road trip guitar just happens to be in Miami so it will make an appearance via the Glades Guitars booth. Thanks for looking!

wow Paul - great work. I especially like the binding/purfling on the sound hole on the parlour; nicely accents the soundhole without "screaming" at you. Interesting design on the parlour, also. Raised fingerboard? First I've heard or seen one.

What anchors the pinless 12 string ends? Are there posts for each?

Very nice work and I hope you are well appreciated at the show.

THanks RR. All of my soundports and soundholes have similar treatments. I didn't get the others photographed well but they are pretty much the same treatment as the binding.
Raised fingerboard. Many classical guitars use it. The advantages are that it gets the fingerboard extension up off of the soundboard. Thus allowing a bit more vibration. It also makes neck resets a breeze should one be needed down the road.
Yes, the 12 strings are pinned. Set back at 25 degrees to counter the vertical pull of the saddle/break angle.

Thanks all for the kind comments.

Looking good Paul. Interesting FB end treatment on the parlour. Is it semi cantilevered? See ya Thursday.

It's totally cantilevered. ( I call it an elevated FB) But the client wanted the bass side of the higher frets to go away in order to prevent knocking them with his thumb or getting buzz when he thumbed the bass strings up high or something like that.
Here are a couple of pics prior to finish of what's going on with that fingerboard extension. The elevated has become somewhat of a regular thing for me.

Hi Paul,

beautiful guitars, high quality of work. I had a look at your website, it's very well designed and you seem to stick to your beliefs.

i agree with you that an EIR back is second to none. To me it will give you a far superior tone then it's Brazilian counterpart. Love your necks too.

Best wishes for the show.

Keyshore

You'll find out at the "unveiling" .
Though I can tell you that a guy named Larry will be performing on it at the show. And he knows how to play it very well.
