I definitely have a few I'd never sell, but pressured to do just one, it'd be my Heritage 575. That's a guitar I can enjoy at home, gig with, whatever...sounds good plugged into almost anything, and decent unplugged...
They really don't make them like they used to, and a new one is WAAAY out of my budget for the foreseeable future. So yeah, the 575. And then my Martin...and my tele...and...

If there's one I have no plan to sell, it's this Hsienmo redwood sinker with cocobolo. Down the road I would like to get a grand auditorium with a redwood top, but would probably keep both.

Never is a long time ...
But that said the one guitar that would likely qualify for me is my Woolson Sound Craft Sig model (the Scotsman) I would be keeping it not only for the qualities of the guitar itself but also for the history and story of how I obtained it (winning the Raffle at the last B.I.G.) I own a few really nice guitars.
Yet for me personally, Guitars are for the most part just things . Tools for the entertainment of myself and hopefully sometimes others. But the one I would never sell is the Taylor 750 12 string my wife bought for me

This is a purely theoretical exercise for me: I’d never willingly let all but one of my guitars go. I suspect that’s true for most of the rest of the folks who’ve posted in this thread.
But the one guitar I’d never ever let go is the 000-42 that Scott Baxendale built for me back in 1989. Technically it’s a Mossman - Scott owned the Mossman brand name at the time - and so far as I’m aware it’s the only Baxendale Mossman Triple O in existence. It’s a great-sounding guitar, and plays beautifully. Anyway, even if I wanted to I couldn’t get rid of it: one day when my daughter was about five I was playing the guitar in the living room, and she came up to me and said: “Daddy, when you’re dead I want to have this guitar.” I said: “Well, I’m not planning on dying for a long time.” She said: “Oh, I know, but I want to get this guitar when you do.” Out of the mouths of babes… So, anyway, that guitar is promised, and has been since the early 90’s.
