What an incredible "slew" of guitars -- just beautiful. As nice as mine are (for a "medium sized collector") they come up short compared to the ones on these pages.

I just love this guitar and all of Michael's instruments. The response forces you to refine your touch, yet is still forgiving.

Most of the stuff here is just not good looking to my traditionalists' eye. To me, the herringbone trim, diamond square neck inlay Martin D-28 is THE pinnacle of a classy, classic and beautiful guitar, when it is made with good quality rosewood and spruce that meet my aesthetic tastes.

Back and sides of my old D-28 have some of the prettiest EIR that I've ever seen.

I'm very fond of the top and trim on my new D-28 Dan Tyminski, too!

I've seen that guitar before and knew it was a Samogyi. It probably sounds unbelieveable but it's too overboard for me, if I ever bought one of Ervin's instruments it would be "less adorned".

Regardless, amazing craftmanship!!

Agreed. I can certainly appreciate the level of craftsmanship it takes to build something like that, but "complex" does not always equate to "beautiful" (IMHO, of course)

In fact, since the rules now state that we can show multiple pictures of 1 or 2 of our favorite guitars... here's the second most beautiful guitar i've seen.. Ken Parker's Mrs. Natural...

No question, one of the most stunning builds with respect to design and attention to detail. Interesting design to be sure, but man, the coupling of the neck to the body is SCARY ! There are as many many beautiful esthetic elements as there are mechanical ones, but that neck joint, no matter how innovative it is, I see no way to keep rigid.

All this is my own opinion of course based on what I have seen and compared on the Net of the nicest looking guitars of all...

Virtually any Kim Walker guitar whether flattop or archtop is the epitome of tasteful design marrying traditional sensibilities with modern touches. Elegance personified.

Matsuda IMHO is the cutting edge of modern design aesthetic for acoustic guitars. Basically a star ship dressed in spalted wood and brazilian rosewood!

Michael Bashkin's guitars create a totally new and snazzy look for a guitar to me that is fresh and yet looks familiar, yet cannot be mistaken for any other guitar.

David Myka's Stargazer design updates the Les Paul Goldtop design and brings it to new heights. It looks like it was made today, but would have been recognised by Gibson back in the late 50's as a progeny of their Goldtop design!

Taku Sakashta's electric guitar design for Robben Ford takes the cake - and I actually dislike Les Paul designs!

Ron Thorn's double cut Artisan Master designs are the nicest looking electric double cut guitars IMHO. Superlative build quality.

Judy Threet's inlay designs are beautiful, funny, artistic, and every other thing you can think of.
