This is our 1974 Takeharu "folk" guitar. I don't know anything about them, really, it was from my wife's brother. Zero fret, adjustable saddle, pretty fat neck. Not a great guitar, but I would play around with it more but don't trust the bridge (one corner is either not good glued or it's coming up a bit). Quite high action, too.
But it got played a lot from the 70s up to the 90s, so it has been enjoyed. Dogs always have to see what's going on, of course... |

My 1983 Japanese made Ibanez Concord (Hummingbird copy) next to my Furch OM.
Utterly Love it. PS: How do you do it so you can post a pic directly into the thread as a lot of foks have done here, rather than placing the link to the pic - like i have ?

1983 Yairi, they imported these for about 3 years. I talked to the factory once and their may have been only about a 100 brought over. One of the few production acoustic doubles. Daion made one about the same time and they are really rare. If you play out you will get noticed.

I've had numerous Taks and Yairis that were fantastic guitars for the price paid. This is my 1974 DY-85. Great to look at and even better to play.

I have quite a few Yamahas, Taks and even a Yairi or 2 over the years, but this one is one that I will alway miss and regret letting go: ~'69-'70 FG-500, formerly owned by moga on the forum, and now is back home in Japan in a private collection.
