Default Taylor 810 strings

I am very close to purchasing a 1996 810! The guitar is in great condition and sounds great!

I want to try a few different strings on the guitar. Any thoughts? I mostly strum and play praise and worship. Plugged and unplugged.

Thanks!

Ron

A 1996 810 would have been originally setup for D'Addario, phosphor-bronze, medium gauge strings. I would try those first and then experiment with other brands and formulations.

I agree with Herb.

I use John Pearse PB meds on my DN8 and love them, you might give them a shot at some point as well. They are uncoated strings so they do have a different tone.

I've had a couple of Taylor rosewood dreads and I always came back to Elixir phosphor bronze nanoweb mediums. That's what I use on my current EIR/Addy custom DN.

For praise in worship go with the elixir's mediums...it will give you that brightness that worship music is know for.

I also highly recommend the Cleartones...

Currently I have John Pearse on mine..like them but not crazy about them.

I have an 810 btw.
