Another one here who was unaware until this thread...

Excellent stuff indeed - his versions of King Of The Road & Everything I Own are my stand outs

Inigo Montoya: Who are you?
Westley: No one of consequence.
Inigo Montoya: I must know...
Westley: Get used to disappointment.
Inigo Montoya: 'kay.

He is definitely a great player and singer. Some stuff he definitely does better than others. My guess he is a schooled Musician from the South. I have to agree he very well could be a Nashville Studio Player but one of the better ones. Hus blues jam in E with a pick and his fingerpicked blues jam were great.
Everything was really good!

I took a look at that specific video and I would agree with you. I often see him wearing a harp neck holder too.

he is unreal... I love his "Hesitation Blues"... oh yeah, and he makes up the lyrics because he's to lazy to learn the lyrics (his words!)

ha !... he's truly an inspiration...

Default Wow!!

I believe I could sit and listen to him play and sing all day.

Wish he had some CD's out, they would be in my CD player for sure.

For you Dead fans check out his rendition of "Friend Of The Devil". VERY good stuff. He's obviously wanting to remain anonymous but then again, maybe he just wants people to see how he's playing.

I know I love to sit and watch someone play. Sometimes I pickup far more from that than by reading a book or sheet music.

Thanks for the heads up! Great stuff.

Default Fretkillr

I don't know who he is either, but I'd love to take some lessons from him, and then take him on the road. How many of us would pay good money to sit and just watch him for hours???? My guess is, all of us. You can tell he loves playing and singing...and that's what it's supposed to be about.

I'm sure you'll have the same let-down reaction as I did to see that BW Stevenson died so young. What a shame.

But it's certainly a compliment to Fretkiller that I thought he was good enough to sound and play like BW.

Best regards, Glenn

Glenn. Thanks for the info...very sad. I didn't realize he had written and first sang My Maria.

Add my name to the list of people who had never heard of him. He sure is good. I am currently listening to "Over the Rainbow". Nice spot in my morning!

Count me among those who this is their first exposure to FretKillr. I find this guy very inspirational. If I dedicated myself enough I could actually play this stuff.

Contrast that when I watch/listen to TE: I get discouraged because never in a million years could I do the stuff he does.

Watching this guy always makes me want to go out and buy a Taylor dread. His style makes it look so easy that I think if I had a Taylor dread with a decent setup then I could play like that. Does anyone else have this delusion ??? I have a GC3 that really doesn't get much playing time. I'm thinking of selling it for a DN3...
