Default New old Thompson guitar day

Just added this 2015 Bob Thompson dread (I’ve been trying to thin the herd this year but oops.) Just love this guitar! Baked adi/mahogany, very light, dry and resonant. Has a big bark. 1 3/4” nut and a slim C shaped neck, low action, 10/10 playability for me. Exemplary service as usual from Karl at CME. There aren’t a lot of posts about Bob Thompson guitars on the forum. Anyone else play one?

Congrats. Bob and Larry make very good guitars.

Here's mine I picked up last year:

Lutz top over aged mahogany. Plays great and sounds lush.

Enjoy your new guitar.

Thanks D, that looks like the same curly maple binding? Beautiful. I've heard great things about those Lutz tops.
I'm deep into the honeymoon period with this guitar. My easiest player ever and it comes with real character if that makes sense. It seems alive - and old.

Love Bob Thompson's guitars. I had a blackwood/adi, but had 1 13/16" nut, just a little too wide for my hands, sold it to another AGFer when he came to my house to look at a different guitar I had, he bought it on the spot. I took those funds and bought another blackwood but had a lutz top, love the sound of a lutz top, loud and warm. Bob and Larry make some great guitars. Enjoy!
