Default Neck profile impressions from the SB guitar Show

I played a few incredible guitars this weekend.
One of the things I liked was some had a shallow, non vintage round, flattish carve. It helped my thumb movements traversing the neck.

Looking down, while playing, the shoulder carve on the low E looked similar to a vintage C shape. Yet where the thumb pressed the feel was flatter.

I was wondering:

What are these boutique carves called? (I am used to the old C, D and U shape acronyms).

Where to research these carves?

Modifying an existing neck?

What I just realized is that the necks of the dozen or so guitars I played at SB were unremarkable in a good way. I listened for tone, of course, and barely noticed neck profiles. All were delightfully playable.
