Poll: Tone Shaping Importance: Back/sidewood, Topwood or Bracing
I've grappled with this a significant amount. I got a Mah/Adi Breedlove 000-12 and played it next to my OM RW/Adi... Not too much of a difference. Mahogany was maybe a bit softer on the attack, but beyond that, not much. Returned the Mah/adi the next day.
Then I'll play a bunch of the same company in a store and find some difference. But, almost every acoustic has a Sitka top. So what gives?
