Default More/other plectrum advice

For some time I have been using Jim Dunlop Nylon 1.14mm (the ones that glow in the dark). I like their feel, response and tone (most of my guitars are strung with light Polyweb Elixirs).
I tend to like a softer sound from a pick.
I am wondering if some other brand/material/style or thickness might provide even more of that tone?
Any folks with similar preference in pick-tone have cfound other picks more to their liking in getting that sound: harder than finger-tip-tone but softer than hard-plastic-tone?

i know exactly what you mean. I really like that old early dylan or woody guthrie tone and I feel the trick to getting that with a pock is to use old worn out picks. Theres a rig rundown of steve vai and it shows him rubbing the rough edges out on the carpet. That way you get to "revive" your pick. I also feel that using older strings helps a lot too.
