Default Taylor Roadshow Do I tempt myself?

the Taylor Roadshow is coming to Mass Street Music this Wednesday.
Part of me really wants to go. But I'm experiencing some wisdom vs desires issues.

1. I know that I'm not going to buy anything.
2. If I do buy anything it'll be a 1 or 2 series, as I'm not holding huge cash at the moment.
3. It's happening on Wednesday evening from 6:30 pm - until? Lawrence, KS is a good 45 minutes away, and Thursday features a 3:00am wake up.
4. I just got my GAS under control with the purchase of the 150. I feel like a junkie trying to drop into the local opium den for a cup of ginger tea....

But, it's a lot of fun and very informative. Plus, they give away prizes.

All the above, plus you will play some very nice BTO's and "one-offs" you may never see again. The store I attended mine at offered some phenomenal deals immediately after the show.

1 - There is no obligation to buy anything
2 - Since you're not "holding" a lot of cash, you have nothing to feat
3 - Shows are normally done by 9pm
4 - See answer #1

You son't regret it. These are a lot of fun, and as has been said, very informative. You may well find yourself experiencing more GAS then after eating a breakfast burrito though.

I've also convinced the wife to go with.
Having the holder of the purse string can either be very good ...
Or very expensive...

Passion sparks desire; desire builds incentives; incentives drives motivation; motivation allows us to achieve things that we otherwise might not have been able to do.

It sounds to me like your fear passion erupting from the road show and to me that is just silly. Obviously you have some level of passion for this or the hesitation wouldn't have come to your mind, but look at the positive of if the passion grabs you from the seat. What if it does (and I hope it does and you should too!)? Will it mean you work harder to save your penny's? Practice more to justify your investment? What harm is either? And if you did either or both and did get that product of your passion? Is that so bad? Not if in the process it caused you to work for something you felt of value and purpose!

There is no down side here, lest you find nothing that sparks you interests and that is doubtful if for nothing more than learning something interesting about the Taylor brand you didn't already know (this coming from a Martin guy), it is after all a great brand and worthy of our attention.

I went last Fall with no intention of buying anything.........of course I came home with a 512ce 12 fret. Such a great sounding guitar and the price was excellent. But it's worth attending very informative and fun.

Default Taylor Roadshow Do I tempt myself?

In point of fact, I have all the guitars I need.

But I really kind of want to look at a Taylor 6 string because I've been very impressed with my humble 150e.
Perhaps, if something interesting pops up...at a good/great price....

Don't get me wrong, my Alvarez is my #1. But I've played some really nice 1 & 2 series Taylors lately, and now my interest is piqued.

That and I really like guitars.

GO!!! You will not regret it one bit. I have been to 2 and plan on going to my 3rd very soon. Agree with Ted, you do not have to buy anything. Great points Kip Carter, just spot on. And to old guy,if you think the 100 and 200's are good....I have some great news for you...they keep getting better as you go up. Just try some 12 fret customs, or some redwood topped gems. Man I cannot wait to go!!!
