Martin D-42 Strings

Can anyone tell what gauge strings are on the D-42 when shipped...?? or recommended, 12's or 13's..??

Coated Lifespans is what they're shipped with. (mediums)

.013-.056 Phosphor bronze mediums (SP4200) are what are recommended.

Don't know what they were using, when mine was shipped in 1999, today I'm using medium Monels, i like 'em.

I had purchased a D-42 yesterday and had it re-strung with Elixers which were always light .012 on my Taylor 814. I just assumed they were putting lights on the D-42, but they are .013's which I am not used to. I had no idea what was removed and didnt ask...Now I know....!!
