Your link was to a web page. I went digging for the image (.jpg) file.

Y'know, I've never done this with clothes (or shoes, or purses, for that matter)!

To my shame, however, I've done it -- successfully -- with the occasional guitar (and, well, OK ... the occasional ukulele, as well).

All of them are "out" now.

I've managed to pull it off with a couple of guitars and an amp or two.

Hahaha! I actually did just that with a Taylor I recently picked up at GC! Not the trunk though, just left it in the back seat until the missus went to bed...

You can do it with electrics. Just sneak it in one piece at a time! Never tried it with guitars but works well with bicycles.

As I consider my wife to be my soul mate and partner, I've rather eschewed the whole "under the radar" idea and rather try to bring her onboard when I get enthused about something. It's a good check on my impulses when she doesn't come along for the ride.

This. I hate to be an old lecturing know-it-all, but honesty in a relationship outweighs GAS, and pays off in the end. When I have wanted a new instrument, I've always been honest with her about it. Even if you know she doesn't want you to buy it, if you do so with her full knowledge it's better than lying. Wives do not like, nor deserve, to be lied to.

Wow, the OP was intended to be humorous - we (I?) sure threw a blanket on that!

Ditto this in fact it was my wife who bought me (as a surprise gift ) my first guitar costing in the thousands of dollars bracket as opposed to hundreds. A Taylor 12 string to be exact.

Back more to the tongue in cheek spirit of the OP then I guess when I finally made inside, that would be "coming out of the trunk"
