I like the idea of both. The only J35 that I've played, though, was average to me, not worth the money.

I've had. Four Larrivee's, and have enjoyed hem all. That said, I've played a couple in store that didn't do it for me. Love my LV09, tho, it seems extremely versatile.

Of course, I am currently favoring short scale, and the longer scale bugs me a little. Not enough to consider getting rid of it, though, it's too good.

Bottom line, really can't go wrong. I would likely lean toward the larrivee, but i think your idea to bring your R Taylor along to contrast with each makes sense.

Only Larrivee I have currently is a 12 fret 000-50 TBS Traditional. The L-03 I used to own was a special guitar. Maybe the only one I've sold and still think about re-buying? So much guitar for so little $ IMO. Great for finger style but not shy from a flat pick either? And the 1.75" nut string spacing is so nice. I'd have to go Larrivee?!?

Jim knowing a bit of your stable, your comments speak volumes. That's how special the L can be!
