Default Song "you are my sunshine"

Hello Folks. I heard this song the radio the other day. Picking notes and strumming at the same time but it sounded great! Sounded like in "D". Would anyone have the tab for this song? Would love to learn it by my wifes birthday. Thanks!!

There is a version in the "Oh Brother where art thou" songbook.

That arrangement is in G, and the chords are straightforward G, D7, G7, and C cowboy chords.

I picked it up at the Goodwill for 79 cents because they priced it like a magazine. I actually tried to argue...

You'd be surprised what you can find in the book section at thrift shops.

Does anyone else remember the episode of "The Beverly Hillbillies" were Jethro decides that he going to become a famous music artist? He arrives wearing a Nudie suit and a cowboy hat w/a guitar to tell the family about it. And "plays" & sings "you are my sunshine" to exhibit his musical ability. It's nothing like the video here. I don't think his guitar was even in tune or that he attempted to play any actual chords. Something like " Ka bang (on the guitar)...You are my sunshine"...Ka bang.....My only sunshine.......
Truly terrible. I have searched in vain for a youtube clip. But classic comedy.

Google the tab. I mean it's a simple 3 chord song, you can play it in any key you want. What ever one suits your voice.

I sing to the music but capoed at the second fret and playing out of C position is a great way to pick out the melody very easily.

Don't know why you would need tab for this simple song, it's pretty much guitar 101.

Some people's brains work differently than others. He wants tab. No need to be mean.

Man, Jerry, that's just rude. He was obviously looking for a certain way to play it. Hope you find what you're looking for, OP! Your wife will love it.

Well, I guess I was out of order. I apologize to the OP and others who were offended by my remark. No offense intended.

OP, this might be a little overkill, but lots of good info here: http://www.guitarnoise.com/lessons/c...e-dots-part-2/ ... Scroll down for some tabs. I'm sure she'll love whatever you come up with though.
