Default Recording king raj-122

Does anyone here have any experience with this guitar?

If so, how does it compare with other all solid guitars you've owned.

I had been considering this model for a while, but after watching this video of Iain Matthews playing it, I pulled the trigger.

It'll arrive next week.

I plan on swapping out the pickguard for a firestripe AJ one.

Any posts detailing experiences with this guitar are greatly appreciated.

I played a used one at guitar center and it was an awesome guitar. I kind of overlooked recording kings until I bought an RD-310 and then I was a believer. Very nice guitars.

I have not played this particular model in question, but own another RK acoustic and have had three of their banjos and and have loved every one of them. They make a great product and have great customer service and great warranty service as well. Just make sure you hold on to your receipt.

I certainly will. I bought it new from Guitars Plus USA. It's not a B-Stock or stamped USED or anything like that. GPUSA even had it inspected by their Martin Warrantee guy. According to GPUSA, there are no bridge lift issues and no fret sprout or other humidity caused problems.

I'm excited and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival.

Default These are great guitars

These are great guitars.....This will kick a modern gibson J-45 behind! I was gonna buy this model but went for an RD310 instead. This is my next acoustic guitar.....good for you ! Great choice! PS: RaJ-126 same guitar but long scale is great too!

Mickey,

The RAJ-122 is long scale 12 fret.

There is no RNJ-126, but I'm guessing you meant the RAJ-126 which is the same guitar but as a 14 fret.

I chose the 122 over the 126 because I already have plenty of 14 fretters.

I don't buy B-stocks or major repairs like that...especially when the repairs are super noticeable.

I also like knowing I'm the only owner of my guitars.

That one on eBay you're referencing has been there for a while and the price was just lowered again. Be careful. The damage was extensive. The same seller has an undamaged one for less than $500 as well, but he sells all B-stock and used.

Andrew's Music in Porter, TX can get you a brand new one with case shipped direct from RK Headquarters in Hayward, CA for $700 all-in. Ask for Howie. I was going to buy one from him before accidentally stumbling upon GPUSA. According to Howie's RK rep, there are 8 left in Hayward. All of which have been double checked by their American QC folks.

I wouldn't generally buy an overseas imported guitar, but if I had to replace my American instruments on a smaller budget, Recording King and Blueridge would be the two brands I'd buy.

Nice tone to the guitar. Good luck with it.
