Default In Appreciation of the 610-SPEC

I've had this guitar for about month, I guess, and I have to say that it is just getting better and better. I am liking it more and more (and I loved it out of the box, BTW).

This is currently the least expensive Taylor I own, and yet is the one I reach for most often.

In fact, I like it so much, that you MAY be seeing one or two of my other guitars up for sale (in the fall, probably) as a result.

Kudos to Taylor for a really fine model in the 600-SPEC.

If you are "cukoo for cocobolo" you really owe it to yourself to try and find a 700-SPEC while they are available.

If you have EVER considered a maple Taylor, the 600-SPEC get my unequivocal and complete unreserved endorsement! (Obviously you also gotta love the natural color, the appointments, etc., if you are going to buy one.)

For awhile now I've been in the market for a new Taylor. First I wanted a 614...and looked at many, but couldn't seem to find the one I wanted. Then I turned my attention to an 810, and just bought one (an 810 Sunburst Custom).

But this 600 SPEC is one to die for!

Congrats on one beautiful guitar. (Don't you just love the natural finish, not to mention the Cocobolo wedge!)

BTW...I'd be interested in knowing what I can expect to pay for a 600 SPEC, assuming I can even find one. Please shoot me an email.

Thanks
TJ

OK, I'm too lazy to look it up. What does SPEC stand for?

I agree with meridian on the 600 SPEC. I received mine shortly after he got his. They are not only nice to look at, but are fun to play, as well as sound great ! You can see a picture of mine under my signature.
I can't imagine someone not liking this guitar, if they tried it out.

Congrats , Meridian , on your purchase of the SPEC. I must admit I am mad at myself as I ordered my third 610 Maple no cut ES inthe last two years and found out about your SPEC too late to stop my order of a plain maple. I own an NS 62 CE which has the dark wood trim on the edges and looks very happy beside a SPEC which would have tickle my anal retentive fancy to no end but now I am waiting on another 610 hoping for good wood this time knowing I really rather have a SPEC now that I have seen it. That is the main problem this forum creates.
Too many nice options and not enough room in the studio for all the pretty Taylors available. LOL

Enjoy your SPEC i am sure these are going to be keepers .

Later

Well, there goes the surprise. I thought we agreed we weren't going to tell anyone about the IHOP.

i was just wondering...is there anything about the 600 SPEC that would make it sound better than any other 600 series? Are the differences ony aesthetic....like the inlays, and the binding etc? Or are there any changes in the SPEC that would make it sound different
thanks!

I am really taking to my 614ces. I imagine the 600 spec could sound even better.
It amazes me how the maple is growing on me and getting better every day.

BTW Joe let me know if you ever consider selling your 810-LTD

Thanks

The differences seem to be all cosmetic. I have it in mind to get a revoiced dread one of these days. Probably a 510.

The 610SPEC I played sounded great, but it's just got too much babbaloney trim for me. Hurts my eyes when I play in front of a mirror with the disco ball going.

Guess you shouldn't play in front of a mirror...
