Default Crossover Guitar Info Wanted

In the years I've spent doing the handmade acoustic guitar thing, I have never paid attention to crossovers. So now, perhaps I can ask those of you in the know to educate me about crossovers. Are they all nylon string guitars with a narrower nut, or...????

Do tell...

Many thanks!

In my experience, the term "crossover" has been used with nylon string guitars that have a curved fretboard, slightly narrower nut width and most often a cutaway body style. Most are 12-fret, but some are 14-fret to body designs. Most use classical guitar bracing styles, but some use steel string bracing designs. Most have slotted headstocks, but some have solid headstocks.

Some examples are made by Ramirez, Ramundo, Taylor, Martin, Lowden, Takamine, Kenny Hill, Goodall, Carvin and many more.

Ditto what Brian said.... I have a David Webber crossover that is outstanding! Lots of fun to play and a nice change from a steel string...

I'd add Cervantes to the list too....

Would you be willing to post specs? Just trying to get an idea of what these beasties entail.

Thanks!

Cordoba also make some nice inexpensive ones. I've been looking at one for months, almost convinced myself yesterday.
