Default "Holden" on for a NGD

Just got off the phone with Taylor and my new HV GS Mini will be here in a couple of weeks. I have played a few Minis and finally decided to pull the trigger.

I am really hoping that the top is streaky like some of the ones I have seen. More so, I am hoping it sounds half as good as people claim!

Fantastic! Have you played a HV Mini before?

Are you able to request a 'streaked' top? I'm guessing that they don't handpick the Minis for anyone but perhaps worth asking?

Congrats! Streak or no streak, you will love the way they play!

That is a beautiful guitar. Mine is almost perfectly clear with just a couple bits of bearclaw. We actually went up to Holden Village a few weeks ago just to check it out (from the lake, at least, we live about 30 miles away). Such a great project.

I asked, they don't let you pick.

As far as playing one, I have not had a chance to play/see one in person. I have played the Sitka (sapele and rosewood) and Hog topped ones. I liked the Hog topped better than the Sitka, but figured it was too close to my 000-15. The Englemann should be nice based on the reviews.

I was hoping for streaks, but received a solid blonde top. Replaced the pick guard with a Taylor black pick guard, refer to it as the tuxedo.

My HV GS Mini was ordered as soon as they became available, and it has nice stripes also. It is quite bright, and sounds good fingerstyle (no picks) and strumming. It's quite versatile, well made, and has become my favorite. And the money goes to a good cause as well.
