New Sound
Just picked my Yamaha FG730S. Nice, very nice. Factory set up is pretty good. Came with Yamaha stock 12's. Neck is very straight. Action is about 7/64 (low E). I'd like it just a slight bit lower, but for now, it's fine. May shave the saddle down just a tad.Sounds great playing through a Seymor Duncan sound hole pickup Only one very minor gripe: no neck markers at the 3rd fret.

Great choice with the Yammie 730! You'll get used to the lack of a 3rd fret marker.
So what Duncan pickup are you using? I am looking into getting the Woody Humbucker. I had the SC for year but it made too much noise plugged in.

I have the Woody HC SA-3HC pickup. No noise. The volume is a bit on the low side. It works better with a preamp. I use my Boss EQ pedal that has a level boost which does the trick.

A friend has a guitar with no fret markers, so he made his own, cutting little circles out of labels. He's a lightning fast old rocker, and lost his place without the dots. Now, all is good, with his home made dots on a $4,000 guitar.
