Default Do all Martin tuners come with its logo?

I recently discovered that not all Martin tuners come with logos. For instance some come with Grover logo. Is that correct? Did Martin put their logo onto tuners recently or have they been on and off historically?

Cool Do all Martin tuning machines come with it's logo?

Martin tuning machines are often made by other manufacturers. Sometimes these companies add the Martin logo, and sometimes not.

I'm aware tuners are made by various manufacturers. There're some used Martins I'm looking at and not all have Martin logo on the button. So how would one know if that's how it came or did the previous owner switched tuners?

Take one off.

Do you see other marks that don't appear to have been made by the currently installed set?

Are there extra/filled holes?

Go to the website, specs are there. Many higher end Martins come with Waverly open gear butterbeans.

The first tuners to get Martin logos were the enclosed Schallers they started using about 1979. Pings later replaced those, or perhaps ran concurrently for a bit. Those two companies accounted for most of the Martin-branded enclosed tuners through the 1990's. I believe some later ones were made by Gotoh as well.

The only open back tuners to be Martin-branded were made by Gotoh. There were at least two different models of open backs used.

The other open backs - Grover, Kluson, Waverly, either had no brand name stamped or had the manufacturer's name.
