I'd just call my insurance company and triple my coverage.

I'd call 911 and tell em about a runaway train and some idiot who's laid 5 wooden objects on the track trying to derail it.

As you weren't specific as to exactly where I was during this scenario let's assume that I was standing next to that pile of guitars.

Within 5 seconds they would all be moved to safety off of that track. Within 5 minutes they would be even more safer in the back compartment of my Pleasure Way. It would be my civic duty to save those guitars.

Oh, and as that train went sailing down that first track I'd walk over to the second track and boost that guitar as well.

Remember... it's my civic duty.

I would stop the train. Out of control doesn't mean the brakes don't work.

How is this an ethical dilemma? ......Mike

"Mad scientist/forum member" ha! I laughed out loud at that one!
I'm with Teleman52 !

I would aim the locomotive directly toward any Gibson I could identify. The more the better.

Well, I think it's finally happened. The AGF forum has officially jumped the shark.

Throw the switch and grab my video camera. Who doesn't like watching a train smash a great guitar? And I've still got more than enough classc guitars left to see me through whatever comes later.

I said direct the train toward the 1 guitar. I'm getting old and slowing down. I might be able to save one but probably not 4. (smile)

Option 3: Derail the train in front of the Taylor plant destroying well over half the inventory.

should you pull the switch or do nothing?
False dichotomy. There are other choices. Since this is a hypothetical fantasy, my response needs to fit the genre:

I would hop on the train and stop it before it damages anything.
