One that I play. Another that sits in the closest that is for sale. Will not be buying another one to replace it. I'm happy with one at a time. Until it has to go into the shop anyway!

I've got 6 in my signature below.

I've got 2 more I'm trying to sell.

I sold 2 in the past week, so it varies.

Once I get the other 2 sold, I'll be "shopping" again.

I've got 4. There are a few more around the house that aren't mine. I think 15 or so would cover me though.

Five, though I'm committed to my better half to pare that down to three at some point (see below for the two I very reluctantly have up for sale ...). Two or three for me is really more than adequate. The only reason I have more is because, having acquired five over time with the idea of keeping the three "best" - I found I never could bring myself to part with any of the five. Oh yea - and some misc "dogs n cats" (travel Martin, a couple of old nylon strings, Ovation I gave to my son).

My five are, in no particular order - an '01 Baranik CX (Mad Rose/Cedar), an '05 OMEGA MJC (Venetian EIR/Ger Spruce), an '06 Doerr Legacy Select SJ (Florentine, Mad Rose / Ger Spruce), '09 Mayes MJ-55 (Braz/Cedar), '96 Ryan MGC (EIR/Spruce).

Merry Christmas!

John

1 acoustic, 1 electric, 1 upright bass 1 bass guitar.

I'm hoping to add a 12 fret mahgany dread to the mix at some point next year. Call it a 2012 goal. Having one 10k acoustic guitar wasn't part of the plan but I can't complain it sounds amazing!!

Back when I gigged regularly I pretty much stuck with one electric and one wood body and one steel body acoustic. I can't really explain it but since I cut way back on gigging my guitars seem to have multiplied. Still have the one electric and one steel body geetar but there are now seven wood body kiddos hanging around.

Three. Two in my signature and a backup in form of Blueridge BR162. Blueridge is listed for sale locally, I did intentionaly price it too high - no rush to sell it.
Ever since Andromeda started Alvarez baritone thread I have been following with great interest, I play in alternate tunings a lot and might be a good fit for me.

2. I never got to playing a third enough, it was a waste for me. I do have a total beater my nephew isn't using, I'll get that back when I go home for Christmas, so I'll have 3, but I'll rarely play the beater. Maybe camping.
