Default #1 of 3 arrives

My 555ces arrived yesterday! This is #1 of three taylors we're purchasing out of an inheritance from my grandfather, who gave me my love for music.

in addition to the 555, i've got a 614ces and (for my wife) a K22ces (all Koa) coming some time in june (having custom necks put on).

i played the 555 for five hours straight today...and i so know we've made the right decision to indulge our TAS!

How hard can music be? There's only 12 notes.

Congrats on the guitars. Send some pictures of all of them when you get them all lined up.

Five hours straight tops my time on a Taylor without a break. Way to go!

Sounds like your grandfather was pretty cool.
He passed down his love of music and the ability for you to appreciate three great guitars!

Congrats! I can smell that fresh, sweet Taylor smell from here!
Just out of curiosity, what custom necks are you having put on the 614 and the K22?

1-11/16" necks as opposed to the standard 1-3/4". taylor installs these for free.

thanks everyone for sharing the joy...even those of you who turned green doing it!

played the 555ces in church this morning, and the ES just blew everyone away. at the first sound check, our sound board op took off his earphones, stood up, and said, "how are you doing that?" he'd never heard such a natural sound coming from an onboard acoustic pickup.

one note: i'm hoping the TRS to XLR shielded cable we ordered from Taylor arrives soon. the ES played thru a regular 1/4" jack instrument cable picked up a radio station loud and clear in the monitors. my wife thought i might be able to change stations with a capo, but it didn't work we ended up just turning my guitar off at the board betwedn songs.

otherwise, everything everyone promised about taylors is true...incredible sound and so easy to play. remembering my experiences with 12-bangers back in high school, i thought it would take me a couple of weeks to get used to it again, but the 555 was easier to play than my seagull 6-string.
