How does the weight/hardness of ebony compare to the weight/hardness of indian rosewood?

Hmm...i know Ebony is harder than rosewood, but I couldn't speak to the weight. It seems less porous, so I'm guessing ebony is heavier as well.

i believe ebony is denser (more mass per fixed unit of volume)

I also believe this is the hardest thread to click on.

the flooring people make great studies of this stuff in relation to weight bearing structures. take these numbers with a grain of salt though. you know how the internet is...

Well I have Ebony and Rosewood on both my fretboard, they are both great. Thats all I know.
