"This fine C.F. Martin acoustic guitar is part of the large Hank Risan collection at the esteemed Museum of Musical Instruments and is now being offered to the public at a very reasonable starting price." I guess they had to remind us that although $3.75 million sounds like a lot of money, it's actually a very reasonable starting price. Geeesh...................

I was about to bid when I noticed a bit of cold checking at the base of the neck, so I think I'll pass on this one...

I feel like opening a new ebay account with a screen name like Youmustbenuts and bidding on the guitar. With zero feedback on the account, what the heck if I don't pay!

If the guitar really WAS that valuable, a private auction like something at Southby's would be a more appropriate place to market it.

Proof again that we live in excessive times...

...wish I'd bought that deal of a D45 back in '87...

Considering that I live in the land of Roy Rodgers. I should immediately start bidding!
Roy and Dales ranch is about 10-15 miles away and his museum which used to be about 5 miles was moved to Branson. That guitar needs to be in Roys museum NOT on ebay!

I met Roy and Dale, they attended a church that I visited a few times.

Offered with a reasonable "minimum bid" for openers?

umm do i want 4 houses in socal or do i want this martin?
Yup, as noted by posts above, private auctions are much more appropriate for this instrument.
I wonder what's the highest dollar amount transaction ever purchased on ebay

You know even if they took 3 MILLION off of the price $750,000 is way too much for any guitar!

Anyone notice his feedback?

No activity in 2 years and 3 of them are from Sharper Image.

One is a positive that says: New to ebay, but don't worry. Vintage guitar expert.

Yeah! That sounds legit!!!!
