Default I just got my first Taylor, wondering how many you guys have?

I got my first Taylor 314K after using Martin for a while. I must admit that I like this wayyyyy better than the Martin DC16GTE. Next step is to install some electronics. So I was wondering how many Taylors you have and which is your best pick? Thanks!

I seem to recall we did this a while back, but it's been a while and it's always fun to talk about owning fine things, so . . .

I have a modest three Taylors: a 420-R and 812-C, both of the '96 vintage, and my most recent acquisition, a '98 714. At the moment I'm particularly fond of the 714, but ask me again in a day or two and you're likely to get a different answer.

You didn't ask, but we (my wife plays, too) also have a couple of Guilds (D-40 and JF-30-12), a Deering Calico banjo, and a Fender mandolin - along with a piano that mostly does duty as a horizontal surface to pile other junk on.

You might check the amplification section for info about pups. I too have three, a 614CE, 814CE, and a 2001 455 CE ltd. Those 300 series koa guitars sound great, no wonder you like it

As for my favorite, I can't decide between the 614 and the 814 (can't compare the 12 string to six, so its my favorite 12er), but I've been playing the 614 more lately

I currently have, in order of acquisition, a 2001 714, 2000 855, 1997 810-WMB and a 2001 710ce-LTD (a.k.a. Cocobolo!, and my only guitar with electronics or a cutaway).

I previously owned a 2001 410, which I traded up for an 2001 810, which eventually made way for the 810-WMB.

I had a 2001 Baby-M, but never really liked the sound (personal, I know), so I gave it to a friend and got a 2000 Mini-Martin.

Other than that, I've got a 2001 Martin 00-18CTN (basically Martin's version of a 512, and my only mahogany guitar) and a 2002 National Delphi Deluxe resonator (a steel-bodied cannon).

Now my collection is complete. Really. I mean it.

Welcome to TAS.

Bill

XXV-GA
810-WMB
XX-RS (due to arrive soon)

These replaced a 1963 Martin D-18 and a Martin OM-21 (and a couple of Yamaha Red labels and an old Takamine 12 string etc etc)

I also have a 1937 Gibson banjo, an Ome banjo, and an upright bass.

I bought the XXV as a fingerstyle guitar, but soon discovered that it was capable of a lot more than just fingerstyle. I got the WMB in a banjo trade. It just kind of turned up on my doorstep. My wife is actually responsible for my current outbreak of TAS. I taught her to play and she laid claim to the XXV-GA, so I had no choice but to find another 14 (see XX-RS above). Now if I can just find a way to blame her for the K22 that I see in the near future.....

By the way... no electronics or cutaways on any of mine. I like pure full acoustic sound, and when I play amplified I am miked.

I have a beautiful green 614ce, a cedar 714, and a baby mahogany. I still have not played a steel string guitar that remotely compairs to Taylor. I just love the sound!
