Dear Killer,

I just pray you don't have to live up to your name. Stay safe...y'all come home REAL soon!

My apologies, Dave, as I'm just now catching up with this thread...

I'll echo the sentiments of those who have posted before me. Unsurprisingly, I guess, I'll add some more.

I was over there the first time around. I know, all too well, the sacrifices you're making, to put your life on hold while doing what you're doing.

While I was in the service, I didn't think it was any big deal. I enjoyed my job, was working towards my pension, and that was good enough for me. Only after I retired did I understand the importance of what I did, and what it meant to so many people. I know this because, now as a card-carrying "long hair", I can't begin to really express the high regard in which I hold those who followed me.

Dave, nobody gets to the level you're at without being good. You're probably too humble a guy to admit that, but you and I both know how true it is. Your willingness, your desire, and your determination to do what needs to be done is what humbles us.

Your willingness to stand in harm's way, and stare it down, awes us. Stay safe, brother, and come home...

Steve
