Based on all the examples, it appears that every wood except for pine looks great!

Ooo Maple up against cedar. That would really set it off. Not to mention it's a hard wood to help take the occaisional bump and not dent so bad as the softer woods. Maple may be a bit bright and gaudy for some. For them Koa, a light Koa would be interesting.

What kind of binding do you guys like on a cedar/EIRosewood guitar?...I'm struggling with this decision...I really like the look of rosewood bindings, like on a taylor 714ce...but something a bit more custom maybe?...i can't think of anything that would look cool on this wood combination....the usual suspects, koa, maple, might not look so good with that dark top?...

whaddya think?

I love the maple, it is my favorite...but, I already have a redwood/ziricote Kronbauer with Maple bindings......and my cornerstone will also have maple bindings....so, if I end up going with another guitar, I'm thinking i might want to try something different.....

I think Koa and Walnut are striking my fancy so far....

thanks a lot for all the responses, and PICTURES....those are the best!!

I used to have a Goodall with EIR/Ceder and it had flamed Koa binding and it was great looking. That's what i would suggest, you can't beat flamed Koa for a binding. I got it on my Mccollum.
