Never really considered putting those strings on a guitar but I have been thinking about trying a set of titanium core strings on my daughters uke.

A characteristic of Titanium is something called "notch sensitivity". Basically that means while Ti is very strong (particularly for its weight), cracks very easily propagate through it when they have a place to start - a scratch or a "notch".
Perhaps there is a little burr or sharp edge on your tuning machine post? |

Breakage I would expect from a $3.00 set. This is crazy.

Martin Titanium
Interesting that strings broke.
I've tried a set on 4 different guitars, NO problems! As well, I like the tone. Nice addition to the tone I received from D'Addario's and Elixirs. Will continue with them.... |
