Side bracing in a guitar
There have been some discussion by luthiers on a few different forums about the necessity of some kind of side bracing. Some use them and some don't. I thought it might be interesting to do a poll to see if there is any connection through user experience with cracks in the side and if there is a significant amount more cracking which aren't braced.
What is your opinion? BTW, there seem to be two kinds of side reinforcements. One is the wood brace and the other is a polyester webbing of some sort (polyester tape reinforcements).
