Default Bianchin OMC - Swiss Spruce - FBT Mahogany

I received this update today from Dave:

"The back is on and the tail wedge is in. The next few days I'll level the sides and get the binding process going. Lots of miter joints ahead!"

Thanks Jim, there is a lot of work yet to be completed but I'll be sure you get to try this one out once I have received it.

Dave has been working on the binding and purfling channels. Below are a couple of work-in-progress pictures from his workbench.

Have I mentioned that I love the figuring in "The Fiddleback Tree" mahogany!

Ooh, do you think this will be ready for the next B.I.G.?
I would love to hear this one: the hybrid X/fan intrigues!

Steve, that’s the plan. I’m on schedule to have it in Doug’s hands well before BIG. Your recent builds are really stellar. Are you coming to the Fretboard Summit? Have a great summer!

Whoa this is looking terrific, Dave (and Doug!). An in-person sighting at BIG or Fretboard Summit would be amazing.

Yes to all who inquired! I am planning to bring this guitar with me to B.I.G. for folks to see and try out Dave's 50th guitar. I also plan to bring my Aboudib Mod-D for Michel to display at B.I.G. along with another guitar he'll bring with him from France.

Dave supplied the photos below to update his progress on the body binding and purling. It looks to be shaping up quite nicely!

It is really looking great! I love the fiddleback mahogany and the way it looks framed by the ebony binding!

Thank you, Doug, Paul and Jim! I got the last of the binding and purfling on this afternoon. Tomorrow I’ll scrape and sand the body, and move forward on the neck and fingerboard. Getting close!
