Default 12 String Gauges

I recently bought a twelve string and it has strings gauge .10 - .47 on it. My question is can I safely use a heavier gauge tuned up to standard pitch. A little help here guys and gals. thanks!

yes, Taylor uses 12-53 Elixirs tuned to standard pitch, though I love it 1/2 step down - a richer bass and alternative to my 6 string.

This might be helpful. Find out what strings your guitar was designed (and warranteed for) and try to maintain the same or less tension. Fwiw - I like my two twelves strung with 010's or 011's AND tuned down two half steps, then down for the open tunings I like. Go to the bottom for 12 strings and remember that different manufactures use differents meanings for "Lights"
